SF6 File Extension

Have a problem opening a .SF6 file? We collect information about file formats and can explain what SF6 files are. Additionally we recommend software suitable for opening or converting such files.

What is the .SF6 file type?

The filename extension .sf6 denotes the Statgraphics Centurion XV Data File (.sf6) file type associated with the Statgraphics Centurion statistical analysis software by Statgraphics Technologies, Inc. Statgraphics Centurion XV provides sophisticated tools for full-fledged statistical analysis of large arrays of data and uses its own file format (.sf6) for storing source data files. Statgraphics Centurion XVI and later versions use a different file format (.sgd) for their data files, while Statgraphics Plus files are saved with the .sf3 extension.

An .sf6 file is a Statgraphics Centurion XV data file. It is basically a spreadsheet that contains tabular data arranged in rows and columns, with references and formulas. For quick data access, .sf6 files are saved using a proprietary binary format. In addition to the .sf6 files that contain source data, other file types are used by Statgraphics Centurion XV: experiment files (.sfx), StatFolios (.sgp), and others. A minimal Statgraphics Centurion XV dataset consists of a data (.sf6) or experiment (.sfx) file and a StatFolio (.sgp).
