WBL File Extension

Have a problem opening a .WBL file? We collect information about file formats and can explain what WBL files are. Additionally we recommend software suitable for opening or converting such files.

What is the .WBL file type?

The filename extension .wbl is primarily associated with the WINDEV/WEBDEV Multi-Project Batch Status Report (.wbl) file type. Batch status report files are log files created as a result of automated processing of several projects performed in the WINDEV or WEBDEV environment. WINDEV and WEBDEV are the brand names of the commercial RAD (Rapid Application Development) toolkits by PC SOFT for Microsoft Windows and web-based application development, respectively. For each WINDEV/WEBDEV multi-project batch (.WDBatch), a status report (.wbl) is automatically created in the same directory, after the batch has been fully processed. Such .wbl files are used for debugging and tracing purposes and can be directly opened for viewing in the WINDEV/WEBDEV environment.

Alternatively, the .wbl extension represents the Workbench Load (.wbl) file type used in the Qlik Sense Workbench development environment for the Qlik Sense data vizualization platform from QlikTech International AB. A Workbench load (.wbl) file is plain-text list of all files (.html, .js, etc.) included in a mashup project. The .wbl file is automatically generated when the project is saved from the Mashup editor integrated in the Qlik Sense Workbench.

The .wbl extension is additionally used by the High Performance Extensible Logging (HPEL) feature of the IBM WebSphere Application Server to denote HPEL log files. Saved in the "logdata/" and "tracedata/" directories with HPEL activated, such .wbl files contain extended log and trace entries for the application server. WBL logs are created in HPEL logging mode only and can be viewed or exported using the Log Viewer tool.
