EYE File Extension

Have a problem opening a .EYE file? We collect information about file formats and can explain what EYE files are. Additionally we recommend software suitable for opening or converting such files.

What is the .EYE file type?

The .eye file extension refers to the EYE video format used by default in ETI Camcorder, a video recording and management software application designed for Symbian-based cell phones. The EYE video format employs the Eyeris encoding technology created by Eyemail Technology Inc.

EYE files contain video clips created with mobile phones. It is possible to share .eye files via MMS or import them to a computer using a USB cable. Video clips with the .eye extension are usually accompanied by matching files with the .ear extension containing sound information. The ETI Camcorder software is no longer marketed due to the appearance of new digital technologies.

The EYE file extension is also used for Glass Eye pattern files. Glass Eye is a Computer Aided Design program intended for use on Windows PCs. The stained glass patterns used in the program represent images saved with the .eye extension. It is possible to export .eye files from the program and share them with other users.
